| Makar Sankrant Say No to Kite Fest Protest |
Student Volunteers of Plant & Animals Welfare Society – Mumbai (PAWS-Mumbai) lead under the supervision of Nisha Kunju organized awareness protest at various public place like BEST Stop, Public Garden in areas like Powai, Bhandup, Mulund, to create awareness about ill-effect of Kite flying during & after Makar Sankrant, in which 1000’s of birds die or become life time handicap. This event was as part of PAWS-Mumbai’s Humane Education

A Owl was rescued from Mulund West Municipal School, Near Kalidas Natya Mandir. Call was received resident of School Staff Quarters, that a Owl was sitting on ground since long without any movement. Its one wing was injured.
Birds Injured due to Manja call attended by PAWS-Mumbai team in 2012 Makar Sankranti till date is 2 Kite, 1 Pigeon, 1 Sparrow, 1 Owl.
