Timely rescue saved life of baby rabbit at Aroli

Timely act of Animal Activist Sunish Subramanian Kunju saved
the life of two month old baby rabbit from aroli, Navi Mumbai
Navi Mumbai : Plant & Animals Welfare Society - Mumbai oofice received a call at around 12.30 AM, informing that a rabbit is seen in the bushes near Aroli Bridge, the informer said that he seen as the rabbit have came in front of his vehical, so he stopped the vehical and kept it on the side of the road. Following to the infdormation PAWS-Mumbai activist Sunish Subramanian with his volunteer reached the spot and search the area after 1 hours of search, they found the rabbit. Its was around 2 month old male baby rabbit, very afraid, as the rabbit was pet and it have been abandoned said Sunish who rescued the rabbit.

As it was very hungry, after rescuing we kept in safe place from some time, later we have feed coriander leaf, carrot and feed water. In morning the baby rabbit become very active and started playing with children who came to see it. While Carlyta Mouhini, an Indo - Latin Singer and animal lover who came to see the rescued rabbit said "I was very shocked to see such a beautiful creature was abandoned on road, such people should be punished for this cruel act. But I am very happy to see its condition is good and it is playing with children happily now.

Sunish said such cruel act is an offence Under Section 11 of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, failing to provide pet animal with sufficient food, water or shelter. Abandoning an animal when old or diseased, keeping it on a short leash and insufficient exerise. Pet owners are covered under this Act. This act is a punishable offence, offender can be fined or with imprisonment for a term, which may extend to three months or with both.

People buy animals as pet when they are very small but then it become older, ill or bigger in size they abandon. We are seen people who give their helping hand to such abandon animals. We have circulated SMS about this rescue and we got good response from animal lovers and we have success in giving the baby rabbit a very happy home where he got a partner too said Nisha Kunju, Administrator of PAWS-Mumbai.

Hon'ble Maharashtra Minister for Rural Development & Guardian Minister of Mumbai Shri. Jayant Patil honored sparrow conservation activist honored with Everest World Records Certificate

Mumbai based NGO Plant & Animals Welfare Society – Mumbai got Everest World Records Outstanding Achievement Award and 7 Years Hitesh Yadav got entry as World’s youngest sparrow saver

Mumbai : Hon'ble Maharashtra Minister for Rural Development & Guardian Minister of Mumbai Shri. Jayant Patil honored PAWS-Mumbai founder Sunish Subramanian Kunju with Everest World Record Award and Master Hitesh Yadav with Everest World Records Certificate. On this occasion Subramanian hve gifted a artificial nest box 'My Sparrow Home' design by organisation by Shri. Patil.
 
In the message Shri. Patil said it's great to see their hard work got recognized not only in India but also in International level.

Plant & Animals Welfare Society – Mumbai, an NGO working for animal welfare and environment protection since 2002 run by youths got Everest World Records Award for Outstanding Achievement in the field of sparrow conservation initiative. PAWS-Mumbai was the first NGO to expose sparrow trade and solved the mystery behind it. And organize various events to sensitise the grass root level communities like student, youth and common citizens. Under the Sparrow Conservation Mission they have launched My Sparrow Home, My Sparrow Feeder and My Water Bowl which is playing very important role in sparrow conservation.
 
Hitesh Yadav is involved in bird rescue since he was around 4 years old, who have rescued many birds like sparrow, crow, pigeon, owl, cuckoo, besra and turtle. He is an active member of Plant & Animals Welfare Society – Mumbai and studying in NES Primary School, Bhandup.He have received received many award for his noble works like Sparrow Friend Award 2011 from the hands of Honorable Governor of Maharashtra Shri K Sankaranarayanan, Public Felicitation by Bombay Natural History Society – BNHS for his conservation effort in very small age from the hands of Mrs Pheroza Godrej at BNHS Flamingo Festival 2011, Outstanding Student Award 2011 for my exemplary achievement in the field of Social Work from National Education Society & Saraswathi Vidya Bhavan on their 48th Foundation Day from the hands of Veteran Actress Zeenat Aman, Outstanding Student Award 2010 for being a Animal Activist on the event of National Education Society & Saraswathi Vidya Bhavan’s Foundation Day, ROBINAGE Bright Sparks Scholarship 2009 by Robin Age. In past he has got entry as “Youngest Animal Activist in World Records India & World Amazing Records” and “Youngest Animal Saver in Miracles World Records”.
